Venus, Saturn and Mercury This Morning, December 1, 2012

Morning Stars Venus, Saturn and Mercury shine during morning twilight today in this image made at 6:15 a.m. CST in the Chicago area.  The star Spica also appears in the image.  Brilliant Venus is the brightest starlike object in the sky during early morning hours.  Dimmer Saturn appears to the upper right of Venus.  Elusive Mercury, only appears during twilight, is visible to the lower left of Venus.  An arrow has been placed on the image to indicate Mercury’s position.  Click the image to see Mercury, Saturn, and Spica.
