Venus and Jupiter (and Orion) Tonight, March 15, 2012

Jupiter and Venus continue to separate after their closest approach earlier this week, as seen in the Chicago area this evening at 8 p.m. in this two second exposure.

Meanwhile at 8 p.m., Orion can be seen in the southern skies with its bright stars Betelgeuse and Rigel. This 30 second exposure accents the light pollution in the Chicago region.
